About Me

Hey there, I'm Jackie, and I would love to help you navigate whatever life challenges you may be facing. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience in the therapy/counseling field. I have worked with individuals experiencing a wide variety of challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, work related stress, addiction, and PTSD - just to name a few.

My goal is to assist my clients in gaining greater insight into their problems, and develop effective strategies to manage stressful situations. I provide education to my clients and we will work together to determine what approach works best for you.

I have worked in a Corrections environment for several years and have identified a need for counseling within the Corrections/Law Enforcement/First Responder fields. I believe that my experience and understanding will be beneficial in working with individuals in these fields, as well as their family members who may struggle to understand what their loved ones are going through.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions -

During our first session, clients can expect a thorough evaluation, so that we can begin to develop a plan for treatment. Some clients prefer worksheets and goals to be incorporated into sessions, and some are looking for a space to talk with support. In our sessions together, you will find that I will educate you on how what you are going through impacts your mind and body.

What treatment methods and tools I utilize -

  • Client centered approach, in order to allow you to be at the center of me helping you.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to help you understand your thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors - and how the three of these are connected.

  • Trauma focused approach to help you recognize how traumatic experience(s) have impacted you and your life.

  • Solution focused therapy to help you manage those ups and downs in life.

  • Mindfulness and grounding techniques to help you navigate overwhelming feelings.

My Biggest Strengths -

My biggest strength is connecting with my clients. Creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and listened to is very important to me. I am trauma informed, and will use these skills to navigate through any trauma you have experienced, and the impact that experience has had on you. Having worked in Corrections for several years, I have identified a need within the First Responder/Corrections/Law Enforcement field and can bring my understanding and experience to individuals working in these challenging environments, as well as their family members. I am committed to the overall health and wellness of each individual.
